Remember the Promises of God

All throughout the Bible, God reminds us of His promises, like “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” These promises are so comforting, yet when we find ourselves stuck in seasons or situations, it’s easy to forget them. Maybe you even have a personal promise from God—about your life, your plans, your family, or your future.
Refusing to live the same year twice means keeping God’s promises at the forefront of your mind and heart. His promises are true, unshakable, and able to stand against anything! Even when you don’t see how it will all come together, trust that it will.
In your lowest seasons, in your moments of doubt, God’s promises can wrap around you and breathe life back into what feels dead or stuck. Breaking free from old patterns starts with anchoring yourself in the promises of God—and letting them guide your every step.
Here is how you make the most out of the Promises of God:
First, write down 5–10 promises, ideas, or goals that God has placed on your heart. Give yourself permission to dream, regardless of your current circumstances. There was a time when I didn’t even have a bank account, yet I believed God would allow me to run an international ministry one day. So no matter how “crazy” it sounds, dream it—and write it down.
Second, ask God for something that makes God look like God. This is one of my favorite quotes from Dr. Myles Munroe, and it stretched my faith. It challenged me to move beyond prayers like, “God, pay my bills,” to prayers like, “God, use me to pay someone else’s bills.” Ask for something that scares you, because when it comes to pass, you’ll know it could only have been God.
Third, create a Prayer/Vision Board and keep it near you. Don’t neglect this step. It helps keep the promise in front of you. Vision from God is powerful—when you lose sight of the vision, you start floating through life and end up anywhere. But when you have a God-given vision, you show up with focus, intention, and clarity.
Today, I am standing in many of the promises of God that I could never have achieved on my own. So never stop dreaming, and never stop reminding yourself of the promises of God.
Reflection:
Which specific promises in the Bible speak to your heart the most? What personal promises has God spoken directly to you about? Take some time to journal and really sit with what He is saying.
