Is Hearing Impaired?

What are you going through right now? Have you submitted those requests and concerns to God? Do you know how? And what does that look like for you? Sometimes as a believer, growth can be stunted due to spiritual malnutrition. What do I mean? I’m glad that you asked. Most Sundays, we go to church and we hear a prepared message that was established for impact. But how many times have you heard a message that didn’t exactly align with what you were facing at the time? For example, perhaps the message was about forgiveness, but at the time you were facing homelessness. That’s not quite a match, is it? So what do you do now, especially if you had been waiting all week long for God to speak, and He did, but it wasn’t about what you needed answers for?

I believe that sometimes God wants us to study based on what we are going through to get the freedom that we need to heal, to change, to increase, to elevate, to soar, to grow, to become, to gain wisdom. Studying the Word topically is an excellent way to combat what you may be facing at the moment as opposed to waiting for the man or woman of God to minister on Sunday. Just as we nourish our bodies with daily food, we must also feed on the Word regularly—receiving not only strength but allowing God to add His 'super' to our natural.

Let me be more specific. Let's say you want to learn how to pray. Pick up your Bible, search in your concordance the words “pray”, “prayer”, and “prays”. Select 10 scriptures that speak to you. Over the next 10 days, read one scripture each day during your prayer time and reflect on it throughout the day. Add a new scripture daily, so by day 10, you’ll not only have built a habit of consistent prayer but also of praying God’s Word—the most powerful and effective way to pray, ensuring His results.

Impaired hearing can be a direct result of waiting on man versus waiting on God to speak to you through His Word, and through you also through His Word. Get creative,  study topically, pray effectively, rejoice daily, and anticipate a supernatural, nutritious outcome.

Weekly Scripture

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Hebrews 5:14
