Alright, it looks like it’s that time of the year. The Sun's out, it’s hot, it looks like everyday is a good day to take a trip to the beach or a dip in the pool. But only this summer, like last summer (and probably the summer before that….) we aren’t ready. Our body isn’t ready. Now, sis, wait! I know, trust me, I get it. It’s hard, and it can be discouraging to know we aren’t where we need to be. But I promise you it’s okay! I’ve fallen off my health journey several times (since 2018) and I’m still struggling.
Daughter, if you aren’t there this summer, it’s okay. Losing weight and getting healthy is not easy, but you have to understand we are trying to climb a mountain. I’ve never climbed a mountain before but I can only imagine you will slip, fall down, and fall down again. You’ll become tired, you’ll feel weak, you may get hurt and have some scars and bruises.
It’s a journey. But guess what? God is with you on this journey, and He’ll never leave you. Just as the scripture says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. And that is true. Even on this health journey, God is with you. And as long as you believe that, and ask the Lord to help you climb this mountain, He will do as He promised. You’ll reach the top just fine, with scars and all. But this time, you did it with God. Here are some tips to help you this summer.
1.) Workout with friends.
2.) Turn on your favorite song and hit that cardio!
3.) Don’t dive right into dieting. This is a journey, and these are healthy habits you want to create. Give yourself time to adjust to clean eating.
4.) Speaking of habits…here’s a FUN FACT! It takes 21 days to stop one habit and create a new one.
5.) JUST DO IT! And remember, if you fall it’s okay to get back up and try again.
Cheers to a healthy fearless summer!
