Fostering Friendship

There is a world of people out there that need what only you were created to provide.

Often, I establish connections with others for accountability, edification, and adventure.  Therefore, establishing friendship is inevitable for me. Sometimes I hear people say no to gaining new friends. That could never be me as I refuse to miss opportunities for growth, creativity, fun, and obedience.

I probably meet someone new almost daily. But with the understanding that each individual is unique and will add their own set of values to my life.  I don’t compare who arrived first.  I accept the tools, inspiration, and wisdom that each connection will bring, whether it's for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.

I like to eat, so I generally ask for quality time around food. It doesn’t always have to be at a restaurant.  It can simply be a coffee shop. I set a time, sometimes a topic, and a location that has other things to do in the event that our time is superb and has the potential to expand.

How do you foster fellowship in your life? Is that something that is important to you, or do you find yourself more comfortable being alone? There is no wrong answer here. Just keep in mind that help, encouragement, correction, love, support, and power are magnified in the company of others.

Maybe you are a person who is shy, and making friends has been difficult.  Perhaps considering

what you like would help in the pursuit of making connections. What are your passions? What do you like to do? For example, if you like walking, spend time walking in parks, malls, or gyms. You’d be surprised by the conversations that accrue through finding people who like what you like.

You are light that was never meant to be hidden. There is a world of people out there that need what only you were created to provide. So connect in order to grow and be the catalyst for the growth and maturity of others.  I believe in you.

Key Points

1.      Fellowship provides education, growth, and community

2.      You weren’t meant to witness behind the scenes

3.      You are needed, necessary, and valuable
