Does It Feel Like God is Taking to Long?

Have you ever felt like your patience was running on fumes, especially with God’s timing?

Because, same. I remember the day my friends told me patience was the fruit of the Spirit I bore the ugliest looking fruit in.

Let’s be clear though, it wasn’t patient with people.

It was my patience with the plans of the Lord that threw me for a loop.

But "delay is not denial." Blah, blah, blah.

Sometimes, the popular Christian clichés don’t soothe the ache of a heart longing for what it can’t rest in, touch, or even see on the horizon.

So what can we do when we're challenged to be good stewards of this waiting season?

We surrender as best we can. And then, we surrender again. To the best of our ability and out of our comfort zone we allow God to do what only He can. Then cast our anxious thoughts about those things we cannot control.

Be honest with God about where you are and how you feel. You don’t have to suppress your emotions with Him. Save the polished “I’m fine” for someone else. With Him, let it out.

Remind yourself of the prayers you’re living in right now. There was a time you longed for the things you currently have whether it’s the growth, the relationships (even the ones you've released), or God’s provision. Old you would be proud.

Scripture and worship can do wonders, especially when your mind needs help staying anchored. Let worship shift your mood when the weight of time feels extra heavy.

And friends? The ones who remind you that you are indeed that girl? They’re a gift. They’ll keep you grounded in faith, speak life into you when you aren’t conscious of what words to say, and remind you that God’s plans will blow you away.

Listen, I know waiting isn’t easy. These steps might feel routine sometimes, but they do help. The biggest obstacle as you wait is your mind, and when you have these in your arsenal you have to win. Before you know it, you’ll be standing on the other side of your current prayers.

And what a testimony that will be.

Weekly Scripture

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day

2 Peter 3:8
