When Community Becomes Healing

Have you ever felt like life became a thick, murky river—one you had to drag yourself through just to stay afloat, fighting against a current that felt too heavy to bear?

I know that feeling intimately. For a while, it was my everyday reality. I didn’t feel like myself. And then, almost without warning, it felt like I tumbled over a waterfall into a bottomless pit.
But here’s what time and grace have taught me: God’s plans stretch far beyond what we can see. He already knows the path ahead, and He patiently waits as our faith rises to meet His truth.
As the holiday season approaches, I encourage you to embrace your people—your family, your friends, your community. Embrace gratitude. There is real healing in the warmth and comfort of togetherness.
And I understand…family doesn’t look the same for everyone. Sometimes your “family” is the chosen circle God handpicked to strengthen you—those who brighten your spirit, lift your head, encourage your heart, and breathe life into your weary soul. Those are the ones you hold close. Where you once felt lost or disconnected, their love can remind you who you are and help restore your joy.

When God led me to move back home, it wasn’t easy. In fact, it felt like another blow on top of trying to survive day by day. I masked my disappointment behind a smile, unaware of just how empty I had become. But being surrounded by my family gave me something I never could’ve found in isolation.
They gave me love.Warmth.Gratitude.Compassion.And hugs.
Yes—lots of hugs.
Slowly, contentment began to seep back into my life. The tide felt calmer, clearer, lighter.
There is something irreplaceable about family—whether by blood or by choice. And if you’re in a season of finding yourself again, I encourage you to step into the presence of community. God never designed us to walk this road alone. He created us to love and to be loved. And within that circle of love is His presence, reminding you that you can experience joy, healing, and connection in this season.
