The Right Field

Glow; (n) : a steady radiance of light or heat.

The Glow Up series has taken off and I am beyond excited. Sitting in my little home office and creating has a new shimmer, a new zeal, and a new passion.

I realize that Glowing Up is a major thing many of us desire.

To Glow Up means to give off a steady light to see, understand, and experience a major transformation!

I thought about my life, trying to work out what issues have been the biggest hurdles stopping me from my Glow Up, and three things were revealed. I realized if we shift these then WE are on a path to OUR GLOW UP!

First, we gotta stop comparing ourselves to others!

This one is the thief of joy and faith! Scrolling through Instagram and seeing someone else buying their first home, buying their first new car, and the list goes on and on. Before we know it we can no longer see our blessings or our beautiful gifts because all I see is what we are lacking.

Comparing ourselves to others puts us in another field. God knows the power of working in the right field. The Grace, Favor, and Protection that comes from staying in the right field. When we jump out of ours and into someone else’s we begin to desire things and pursue stuff that was never meant for us. We have to stay in our field and keep going, believing that in the right season we will reap our harvest.

Now, that we are staying in our field we have to take inventory on it!

When we stop taking inventory on our hearts, emotions, faith, finances, and much more, that’s when we find ourselves feeling overwhelmed, unfulfilled, angry, and emotional. Taking inventory allows us to keep track of how well our life is going.

When we take time for us, we recenter, refocus, and get back on track to a freer day without stress and worries. As we take inventory it would be a great practice to pray over every area. It will produce clarity, faith, and peace.

(Is my faith growing? Have I prayed to God this week? Am I still within my budget? How’s my heart, is it heavy?)

Lastly, we must decide to be better than who we were yesterday.

Realizing that we are only in competition with ourselves can be our game changer. Our battle isn’t with anyone else, but with ourselves. We have to choose to be better than yesterday’s version.

Once we push daily to get better (and some days we will mess up), when we do not give up, we will look up one day from working on our field and realize we are in the midst of our harvest.

It's Glow Up Season!

Ruth 2:8-9

"My daughter, listen to me. Don't go and glean in another field and don't go away from here. Stay here with the women who work for me. Let your eyes be on the field they are harvesting, and follow along after these girls. Indeed, I have ordered the young men not to touch you. And when you are thirsty, go and drink from the jars the young men have filled.”

He will! As we walk with him he will reveal it!. The first field is just by staying in His presence.

Honestly, I'm not really sure what my field is; but I pray for God to show me.
