Real-Life Christmas Miracles

ree

I grew up watching Hallmark Christmas movies with my mom—those feel-good films full of hope, joy, and “Christmas miracles.” For a long time, I honestly thought that was just a cute movie phrase. But over the years, I’ve learned that Christmas miracles are very real.

Growing up, there were many years when our Christmas tree sat empty. Nothing underneath it. No gifts. No sparkle. Until—out of nowhere—someone would bless our family. I’ve witnessed strangers show up at people’s homes with food, gifts, and love… and those memories still warm my heart.

Last year, I heard the most beautiful story. A grandfather carried a heavy heart because his granddaughter had moved away months earlier with her boyfriend. The family was praying for her, but communication was nearly nonexistent. Text messages went unanswered, weeks turned into months, and the only glimpses of her life were the occasional Facebook posts. Fear began to grip his heart, but he continued praying for her every single morning.

Then, on Christmas Eve, the phone rang. It was his granddaughter—crying, apologizing, and admitting how much she needed her family. She apologized for the silence and opened her heart for the first time in a long time. She was ready to reconnect… and it all happened on Christmas Eve.

Not because there’s “magic” in Christmas, but because God moves all year long—yet there is something special about this season. A softness. A generosity. A willingness in people to give, love, and reach out.

So don’t overlook your Christmas miracle this year… And don’t overlook how you might be a Christmas miracle for someone else.

Weekly Scripture

Do not be afraid! For behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: Today in the city of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord! And this will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.

Luke 2:10-12
