The Power of What’s Already in Your Hands

Recently, while traveling for a ministry speaking engagement, God reminded me again that I already have everything I need.
This opportunity came together at the last minute, and I had to travel over an hour one way to get there. I was told to bring books or anything I had available to sell, but because of the time crunch, my books wouldn’t arrive in time.
So I made peace with showing up with just a few ministry infographics… and that was it.
The morning of the event, I stopped by my office to grab my pretty pink Bible that I keep there. When I walked in, I noticed something I had overlooked—my display shelf was full of books. Books that had never been used, just sitting there as display pieces.
In that moment, I felt led to clear the shelf. I gathered the books, hats—everything I had—and took it all with me.
As I drove to the event, I smiled, realizing in faith that God was showing me once again: I have everything I need. Maybe not everything I want, but exactly what I need.
I may have wanted full tables stocked with inventory, but God knew exactly which books were meant for that room.
It reminded me of my time in college, when I served as president of a Christian organization. I spent that entire year reaching out—emailing teachers, pastors, anyone I thought could come and pour into our group. And more often than not, I felt like I had little to no help.
But in the final week of that season, my eyes were opened. I realized the help I had been searching for externally was already right in front of me. The leaders I was looking for were already within our group of college students—young people who were on fire for Jesus.
The help had been there all along.
Looking back, so many of our mothers and aunts can reflect on their twenties or thirties and realize that in those past seasons, they truly had everything they needed.
So today, sis, my prayer is that you don’t let this season pass without realizing and embracing that truth. You may not have everything you want, but you do have everything you need.
Just like the books sitting on that shelf. Just like the students who were ready all along.
You have everything you need, sis. Open your eyes to what you already have.

The part about recognizing the value of what you already have really stood out, especially how it encourages a shift in mindset from constantly seeking more to actually using existing resources more intentionally. It’s interesting how often people overlook simple things in front of them while focusing on what feels missing. I found myself wondering what helps someone make that mental shift in a consistent way rather than just in moments of inspiration. It also made me think about how this applies in other areas of life too, like studies or creative work, where some might look for Web Designing Assignment Help in UK when trying to make better use of their time and abilities.
