Have you ever heard the phrase “open heaven” and imagined pearly gates above? But what if heaven isn’t only a future promise—what if it’s an experience you can have now, here on earth? An open heaven is moving from simply knowing about God to truly living in the reality of His presence. Has God ever left you speechless—have you felt His love, favor, sovereignty, or goodness in a way that changed you? This devotional is designed to help you begin living under an open heaven. And honestly, it’s no coincidence that you’re here. You’re ready to walk bolder, deeper, and stronger in your faith.
You may be new to this phrase, so let’s take a moment to understand what an open heaven truly means. An open heaven is an awareness of a season or state where God’s favor, revelation, and fellowship flow freely and abundantly. Simply put, it’s the tangible experience of heaven touching earth—when we move from the concept of God to the reality of God.
When Jesus was baptized, the heavens opened, and from that moment, His ministry flowed with power and purpose. Living under an open heaven changes everything.
Years ago, at the very beginning of my ministry, I felt led to move from my hometown to the city. I had very little money, but I had faith. I found my dream apartment online, only to learn there was a long waitlist. Still, I traveled to the city in faith. When I arrived—money in hand—they told me a unit had opened less than ten hours earlier, and the first person ready to place a deposit would get it. I was there. I got the apartment.
I was left speechless. Against all odds, the door opened. Heaven met me in that moment. That was just one of many experiences.
My prayer is that you don’t believe encounters like this are reserved for a select few. An open heaven is available to all who believe and fully trust the Lord. Your open heaven is here—embrace it.
Reflection:
Can you recall a season when life seemed to flow with grace? A moment when God truly left you speechless?
Weekly Scripture
“And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, 'This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
Matthew 3:16-17
