For many years we dwell in hurt, then we look up and five years have passed. And yet we are still holding on to that old pain, that old fling, or that old regret.
I know that I am like many of you. We walk around with the excess baggage of “what ifs” and hurting ourselves in the process.
Years ago I laid on my parents’ couch doing the silent cry due to the pain I felt in my heart. It was time to let go of a toxic relationship, but all I knew was that I loved him. I couldn’t help but ache. I cried all night on that couch, not realizing the next day I would get up better. The next day I would get up stronger. The next day I would get up free.
Every tear and every pain I felt was God finally being able to deal with a deeper and more broken part of me. It was finally His chance to come in and make something new. But first He had to clean house.
Just because I overcame at that time didn’t mean it was all going to be easy. And soon I would see many more seasons that needed the deep interworking of God in my life.
To the girl stuck in bed because of depression…
To the girl who feels lonely in her own home…
To the girl with a wound so deep, she doesn’t know how to deal with it...
To the girl who is lost in her life and needs direction...
To the girl who is just like me…
God has a word for you…
Words I heard seasons and seasons again… God said, “Girl, Get Up! But this time with God. GET UP IN POWER, GET UP IN ANOINTING. GET UP IN STRENGTH, GET UP IN LOVE.
GET UP, DAUGHTER, FROM YOUR DEAD AND DARK PLACES.
GET UP FROM THE STORIES FROM THE PAST.
GET UP FROM THE HEARTBREAK. GET UP FROM THE FAILURE.
GET UP FROM THE FAILED DREAMS. DAUGHTER, GIRL, PLEASE GET UP.
IT’S TIME TO COME OUT OF YOUR DEAD PLACES. IT’S TIME TO COME OUT.
COME OUT. COME OUT. COME OUT. COME OUT. COME OUT. COME OUT.”
It’s time to shine like the jewel you really are!
It’s time to get up and start living without the burden of that excess baggage that was put on you all these years. You can be free and you can get up!
Get back up to your life. Get back up to your dreams. Get back up to your hopes. Get back up to your health. GET BACK UP AND LIVE! Get back up, Daughter. It’s time to GET UP, GIRL.
You’ve stayed down for far too long. Far too hurt, far too deep. Get up, Girl! GET UP, Daughter! Get up, Daughter. Get up, Daughter.
All ‘getting up’ really means is that we need our Father. We need Him to get up. We can’t get up on our own strength. A yolk, a chain, a stronghold only our Daddy can break. Abba Father isn’t a God of control and religious rituals. Our Daddy is just one that calls us to love, and His love is so powerful and amazing that it changes us.
I am the by-product of a Love beyond words. A Love that saves. A Love that restores. A Love that never gives up. Today, Girl, Get Up and Step Into Who You Are Called To Be!
“Taking her by the hand, Jesus said, “Talitha koum!” which means, “Little girl, get up!”
