GET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER

It was a Sunday morning I will never forget.
The Lord spoke to my heart and simply said, "Get your house in order."
At first, I thought He was referring to my body, my temple, as the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. But as the days went on, I realized He was talking about the very house I live in.
Since 2020, boxes intended for Haiti have accumulated throughout our home. They contained clothing, household items, and other necessities that could bless so many people. Yet, year after year, they remained where they were. By God's grace, we finally began the work. We decluttered all fourteen areas of our home, and we plan to drive the boxes to Florida, where they will be loaded onto a dock and shipped to Haiti before the end of the year.
The process has taught me far more than how to organize a house.
As an adult, I know what it feels like for expenses to outweigh income, to carry debt, and to wonder how financial breakthrough will come. While cleaning, I found myself praying, "Lord, I don't just want empty storage spaces. I want every area of my life to be filled with what You desire."
Today, our garage contains only the Haiti boxes awaiting shipment and a few belongings that family members will soon pick up. Walking through the house without having to maneuver around piles of clutter has been incredibly freeing. No more "Cupid Shuffle" just to get from one room to another!
As we become willing to release what no longer serves God's purpose in our lives, we create room for Him to entrust us with more. Whether that "more" is peace, wisdom, provision, or financial breakthrough, we can trust that God knows exactly what we need and when we need it.
While cleaning out the basement, another thought came to me.
Isn't that how our hearts can become?
The hidden places are often the easiest to ignore. We close the door, leave things untouched, and tell ourselves we'll deal with them later. But over time, what goes unattended grows heavier and more overwhelming.
The same is true spiritually.
Lord, search the hidden places of my heart. Clean out anything that no longer reflects You. Remove the bitterness, fear, pride, unforgiveness, anxiety, and misplaced treasures. Fill those empty places with Your peace, Your joy, and Your presence.
I don't want my life to be one of constant suppression. I want it to be a testimony of deliverance, hope, freedom, and peace.
Thank You, Father, for the work You continue to do in and for me. Thank You, Jesus, for making that work possible. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for faithfully revealing what needs to change.
Child of God, don't be afraid to let Him do the housekeeping of your heart. He never removes something without making room for something better.
It's time to let Christ have access to every room.
