Doing The Work (even when you're afraid)

Doing what is necessary for this particular season is all that comes to mind when I think about Esther. Esther was an orphan turned queen. But not without a process and a test.

I love ministry, but I am still human and, at times, I can have 50 papers on my desk with things to do and just don’t do anything.

But I began to see my list growing longer, my mind more jammed with things to accomplish and my peace fleeting.

I’ve watched myself get so overwhelmed that panic attacks were knocking at my door or I was on the edge of just being burnt out, so my goal is to give you some pointers before you get there.

I learned that the things we are avoiding are actually meant to bring us peace.

When creating my book I kept putting it to the back of my to-do list. Everything came before it. When I had a free window of time I would procrastinate or search the web. The truth was I was intimidated by it. I was afraid that it wouldn’t measure up or be good enough.

Regardless if we like it or not we all have something to do. Even if we avoid it, it still needs to be done. Even when we want to be still and procrastinate or set in fear we have to get moving in Gods will.

This makes me see Esther... A queen who still looked at herself from an orphan standpoint. She had the power and the authority, but she was still thinking from the outer-courts.

She first wanted to avoid saving her people because she thought she had no power and wouldn't be able to.

However, her fears and views couldn't keep back Gods will to work through her.

Esther had to decide to stand still in fear or move in faith. She realized it was no longer her season to stay quiet and go by the rules.

It was no longer her time to lay down and be stuck.

It was no longer her purpose to blend in.

Esther realized it was her time to move and step into her destiny!

You may think you are not Esther, but you are Gods chosen. You are His Beloved and set apart Daughter!

Today, look in your life and see what you must move on! Remember, when Esther wanted to stay still God said move. When Esther was afraid God said do it! When Esther was unsure God said "You were called for such a time as this".

The next time you are unsure, afraid, and not wanting to move remember that this season is your season to step into who you really are... A Daughter of Purpose and Power!

Scripture

"And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?"

Esther 4:14
