Too Busy For God!

With a lot on my mind and many things to accomplish, sometimes I just need to stop and remember why I do what I do.

After weeks of working, I felt a bit overwhelmed and my inner talk was revealing it. I began to feel very inadequate, and I let fear sneak in, and before I knew it I was running like a hamster on a wheel. Long to-do lists filled with stuff God didn’t even tell me to do. I put so much on my plate that the thought of not doing it all scared me.

I told myself that once I’d accomplished everything on the list, then I’d be good. But the truth is we all have many things we could be doing, such as the laundry, cleaning up the bathroom, reading that book, emailing someone back.

I mean, the list goes on and on. But if we take time we can get to the root of the problem and see why we are running from God and not focusing on the truth that is all around us.

That truth is: all we need is God.

His loving embrace can make all the burdens go away. His powerful might can clear up all the negative talk, and His peace can remove all the fog in our minds.

No, ladies, we don’t need to do one more thing on the to-do list, nor do we need to scroll on Instagram©. We need to stop and pray. Pray for help. Pray for guidance. Pray for peace. We need to pray for the truth.

The truth that we are overwhelmed and running on fumes.

The truth that life has gotten a little bit too heavy and the burden is getting too big to carry on our own. The truth that we need help.

The business owner, the stay-at-home mother, the college student...we all need help! And it’s okay to ask for it and seek the help in Jesus!

Say these words out loud for your need:

Daddy, I need Help!

Daddy, I need Peace!

Daddy, I need Guidance!

Daddy, I need a Job!

Daddy, I need a Breakthrough!

Daddy, I need Healing!

Daddy, I need Joy!

Daddy, I need Love!

Daddy, I need Favor!

Daddy, I need You!

And as you speak these, your Daddy will give it all to you! Believing in faith that God will hold no good thing from you! When we say those words we officially are no longer too busy for God and we allow Him to pour into our souls.

Matthew 7:11

"If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!"
