Don't Forget About me, God!

Months ago, I stood outside my studio apartment with the night sky over me. My little dog was going out for his final bathroom break and I was lost in the stars. Standing under the night sky, I thought about how I got there. In that small town, with one window in my studio apartment. It was so small that I could never have company or even family over to visit. I stood there and made my needs known to God. I wanted a bigger space, to live, to host, and to be around my family more. The last word I said to God was, “Don’t forget about me.”

Honestly, I felt like He had. He gave me the word in 2022 to move from my comfortable apartment in the city back to the country. In that transition, I experienced many obstacles, like heartbreak, delays, and even seasons of financial hardships. For many months I wouldn’t pay myself, but did everything I could do to keep the ministry afloat. I truly felt like God forgot about me!

So that's why I whispered to God that night while staring at the stars, “Don’t forget about me.” Truly I would love to say the next day that God had opened a door, but, no, it took months. But one day, God shined on me. I went from living in that studio apartment with one window and no yard, to a full home with multiple windows, a yard, and even a washer and dryer. To someone else, this may all seem so small, but to me, it reveals God's character.

Just when we think He has forgotten about us, just when we’ve been crushed by life, He smiles upon us once more with another blessing.

So today, I challenge you to believe and know that God has not forgotten about you. We may feel pressed, but we are not destroyed.

Weekly Scripture

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed but not in despair; persecuted but not abandoned, struck down, but not destroyed…”

2 Corinthians 4:8-9
