Fight For Your Word

At the end of 2022, God gave me my word for the year: “Next Level.”
I walked into 2023 excited, eager, and ready.
Then reality hit.
And nothing in my life looked like that word… it looked like the opposite.
I felt lost. I felt scared. I felt discouraged as trials began to come from every direction. Fear gripped my heart. My prayers felt empty. My faith felt even emptier.
I watched people walk away. Ministry accounts decreased. And I found myself doing so much that I couldn’t even take a day off.
My body was tired. My spirit was tired. And everything started to feel heavy. What was once joyful began to feel like a burden.
Until one day in prayer, I heard the Lord say: “Fight for your Word.”
I was stunned—because deep down I knew this word was coming to me. But I also knew this kind of fight was not what I had in mind.
I wanted boxing gloves… but that’s not the fight God was talking about.
He was calling me to fight my comfort zone.
To fight my current level of faith.
To fight my current work ethic.
To fight for my current joy and peace.
The Word will come to pass—but I have to fight for it.
Because when my reality looks nothing like what God promised, that’s when I must begin to declare it anyway.
That’s when I speak it over and over.
That’s when I work like it’s already here.
That’s when I believe again.
That’s when I start looking for the very opportunities I’ve been praying for.
I want to encourage you: don’t be discouraged if your word for the year looks nothing like your current reality.
It’s not time to doubt. It’s time to fight.
Fight with prayer. Fight with fasting. Fight with prophecy. Fight with your faith.
Show God you believe what He said.
This week—send the email. Text the friend. Prepare the flyer. Shoot the video.
Do something that proves your faith is still alive.
Because this is your time to fight for the Word.
Your promise is still yours—just move in faith and watch everything shift.
Reflection:
What “word” or promise from God have you stopped fighting for because your current reality feels opposite? What is one practical step you can take this week to act like you still believe it? Ask God for strength to fight with faith again, not fear. Write the blog.
