Allow God to Plan

Hearing the morning birds chirping away, I can’t help but see beauty in this day. I say that because I am not precisely living my plan right now. See, back in 2022, the Lord led me to move back to my hometown, which wasn't part of my plan. Then he led me to uproot my ministry headquarters as well; that also wasn’t part of my plan. While all in transition and living with mom, that wasn’t my plan.

Now, eight months later, with half of my belongings remaining in boxes, I am still aware that this was not part of my plan. I’ve learned that my plans aren’t as good as God's. See, I wanted to keep the same office, the same city, the same routine, the same income, the same environment. However, God said, “I want to give you a whole new reality”. I want you to see that this reality didn’t come easy, nor did it happen overnight. It came with little steps of faith.

When I say little steps of faith, I mean this reality came with a lot of little decisions and a lot of tears. Saying goodbye to my plans felt like a death. I sat on my old office floor, in a pool of tears, crying because nothing in me wanted to let it go. But faith was telling me to follow God. Honestly, looking back, only God carried me to where I am now. With a new and improved headquarters, team expansion, and so much more, I can see now that all the heartache and change were worth it.

I realize today that my plans fell so short compared to God's. I was focused on what was comfortable and what was now. When God was okay with me being uncomfortable, and knew what would bless my future. I share all of this to encourage you to be okay with making new plans with God.

God has a far better plan for you, and when you connect with Him, He reveals that plan. Jonah ended up in the belly of the whale because he couldn’t forfeit his plan. His plan made him run from Nineveh instead of to it. I want to share with you to submit to God's will and let it all go.

So, if you ever find yourself stuck, check and see if your plans have gotten in the way.

Weekly Scripture

"The word of the Lord came to Jonah, son of Amittai: “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.” But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord."

Jonah 1:1-3
