We all Need a Pause

Laying in the backseat feeling like my chest is caving in. I felt defeated and my biggest fears were playing with my mind. At this time of overwhelm and doubt I heard "Pause". This was no ordinary pause. This was the pause that God needed me to come back to Him.

A place where my mind is at peace, my heart has hope, and I can see His goodness.

Pause doesn't mean to stop. Many times after a defeat I was used to stopping and running away like a dog with my tail tucked, but God didn't want to me stop or give up, but to pause for a moment.

Long enough for His loving assurance to wash over me until I could stand in faith again.

When Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane, He became overwhelmed and sweated great drops of blood and couldn’t take the weight of all of our sins. But quickly he refocused Himself back to His Father and stated: “Father take this cup from me, nevertheless, not as I will, but your will.”(Matt. 26:39).

Each time we get overwhelmed, frustrated, fearful, upset, or at the end of our rope we are in the perfect position to get divine strength from God.

When we refocus, we get the divine strength and courage to love bolder, dream bigger, and keep going toward the higher calling of Christ Jesus. No matter how alone or stressed we feel, we are not. We have a God who listens, guides, protects, equips, and loves us.

Finishing out the month of November with a simple pause can help you refocus and get back grounded in God!

Scripture:

“And he went a little farther and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou will”

Matthew 26:39
