The Beauty in Vision

Sitting at my desk on a Saturday night with a hot cup of tea and good jazz music playing lightly. As I stare out of my apartment window, I see all the cars passing by. Red brake lights zooming pass with urgency to get to their next destination.

I sit here and wonder...if it were five years ago, where would I be heading? I would probably be wearing a tight dress and heels, ready to hit up any club I could find. This makes me smile.

Those seasons of having no vision, when I roamed around aimlessly, participating in anything that gave me a sense of worth.

Now, five years later in my little apartment in the city, I see the Power of Vision!

Vision came at a time in my life when I wasn’t ready.

I wasn’t done with the partying and sexual activities. However, vision has a way of shaking up your life. Vision begins to dictate your habits, friends, hobbies, time, and everything else.

When a true vision from God comes, it begins to clean house. It begins to dispose of all the things that no longer connect with it. The vision becomes so big that you no longer feel bad about missing social events. Because you are now grounded in the purpose that God has for you.

That previous season of mine was beauty. Or so I thought. But truthfully it was ashes compared to this one. The heartache, the trauma, the continuous neglect of my personal needs, the drunk nights all look like ruins now. But we serve a God that somehow uses all those previous ashes to birth something beautiful.

On this Saturday night, writing this blog just shows me more and more how vision can change a person’s life, and that God will create much beauty from those old seasons.

There is power in Your Vision.

Allow God to use those seasons of ashes and turn them into something beautiful.

Scripture

" For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Jeremiah 29:11
