How To Step Out in Faith

In 2017 I had the idea to give all my previously worn prom dresses to teens in need. At the time, I was in college, and I knew my sister and I had about nine dresses altogether. I began to rally up

dresses on my campus, and within two weeks, I had over twenty dresses. I called a local youth shelter and we put together a fashion show for the young ladies, with music, food, a runway, and dresses.

Within two weeks I conceived the idea, I rallied up the dresses, contacted a youth shelter, and held the prom dress drive. Little did I know this was the start of His Daughter’s Closet Ministries. That one idea and one step of faith led me right here.

I want to share with you three ways I was able to step out in faith:

Get the Idea & Don’t Overthink It!

I didn’t make a full business plan. I just knew I’d rally up all the dresses before I left for spring break. I had a week and a half to do it.

Feel the Fear, But Do it Anyways!

All this means is to keep working on that idea. You will feel fear to talk about it, to promote it, but start small. I just asked my circle group first, then I started asking women I came across on campus.

Know that God's Got You!

When you are doing this in faith, you have to believe that God is with you, guiding you, and assisting you. You have to believe that everything will work together for your good. That somehow, it’ll all work out.

When we step out in faith, nothing makes sense, but God knows what that one step of faith can do for our lives. I pray you to take steps in faith and see all God can do when you trust Him.

Weekly Scripture
